Samaritans is a confidential emotional support service for anyone in the UK and Ireland.

The service is available 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.

The Muslim Community Helpline has been operation since March 2007 and aims to provide a listening and emotional support service for members of the community.

The service operates Monday to Friday 10 am to 1 pm. Members also give talks, participate in consultations, train and contribute expertise and insights gained from their experience.

Rape Crisis Scotland (RCS) is the national office for the rape crisis movement in Scotland. We support the work of local centres and develop new centres in areas where there are no or few specialist services. We also work with other agencies such as the police, Crown Office and health services providing training and consultancy to improve the response to those who are affected by and who perpetrate sexual violence. Through our campaigns, briefings and publications we raise awareness of sexual violence, challenge attitudes and press for legal change.

The Women’s Support Project aims to raise awareness of the extent and effects of violence against women and children, and to support those affected by violence. Key themes in their work have been to highlght links between different forms of male violence and promoting an interagency response to the abuse of women and children.

Victim Support Scotland is the lead voluntary organisation in Scotland helping people affected by crime. It provides emotional support, practical help and essential information to victims, witnesses and others affected by crime.

Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) is the national umbrella body that provides support services for Scottish citizens advice bureaux and collates client case evidence to shape policy in Scotland and the UK.

ASSIST offers information, advocacy and support to the partners or ex-partners of those Accused's appearing in the Domestic Abuse Courts at Glasgow Sheriff Court and to male partners or ex-partners of Accused's appearing in Ayr's Domestic Abuse Cluster Court. Services include risk assessment and safety planning, passing information to and from court and a Children & Young People's Service
